11.BABY MAKES THREE: Elvis and Priscilla show off baby Lisa Marie as they leave Baptist Hospital in Memphis in February 1968. Lisa Marie was born nine months to the day after her parents' wedding.
Elvis was an affectionate father, spending time with Lisa Marie even after he and Priscilla had split.
"I would see my father all the time -- Christmas, Easter, entire summers, weekends," Lisa Marie told LIFE in December 1988. "A couple of times I went on tour with him. If he was going to be settled in one place for a while, like Las Vegas, he'd call for me to come visit for a few days. I'd be sitting in class, and Mom would pull up in the car before school was over. That's when I knew I was going to go see him.
"He was always up to something, shooting off firecrackers or guns, running around, driving golf carts or snowmobiles," she added. "He'd pull me in a sled and scare me to death. On that long steep driveway that goes up to Graceland he'd be pulling me up and falling at the same time. He called me 'Buttonhead' or 'Yisa.' He'd never call me 'Lisa' unless he was mad at me."
Elvis and his daughter remained close until his death, in spite of his excesses with women and drugs. "All the bad things never changed my love for him," she told LIFE in 1989.
